As a writer of erotic fiction, I’m often asked who, what, why, where and how
I get ideas for my stories. My blue eyes brighten with a mischevious flicker as I turn my head and look deeply into the questioner’s curious eyes before lowering my voice an octave, “well, it’s little bit of paying close attention and listening intently to what the people around me are saying - that combined with having a great imagination and a really dirty mind.”
Now at this point, the usual response I get from the person asking the question is one of two responses: absolute horror, or absolute indignation; sometimes both.
Here’s a common response:
Mouth gapes open in shock, horror and well, indignation, while their head tilts forward. I can almost see their internal gears change as my words register and the synapsis start firing, “you mean….I…I…I could be in one of your STORIES?” This is immediately followed by arms tightly crossed, Indian-style, over their chest in defense.
Inside I let out a deep sigh before I console and sympathize my weary questioner by smiling sweetly and responding, “well, not everyone..and certainly not anything you’ve shared with me…today….” Fingers crossed behind my back.
