Damn. I had a busy-ass weekend. You too? I don’t know about you, but I’m trying to play catch up to all the things that I’ve needed to do since my full-time job and part-time school took over my life, like a version of invasion of the body snatchers. As well as trying to re-capture my social life, I spent a lot of time doing yardwork this weekend: trimming, pulling, edging and planting - and no those words are not a metaphor for something sexual - although hmm…the thought of do’in it in the great outdoors has become enticingly appealing to me as the weather starts to warm up.
Oh, I digress don’t I?
I’m catching up on other things today too, like blog hopping tonight as I sit at the infamous and borrowed Neve Black kitchen table - the stark white kitchen is filled with lots of colors tonight as the sounds of NPR’s world music blaze through the small radio’s speakers. The smell of cilantro, lime, jalepenos and cummin also fight against sterile white as I bake a fresh batch of veggie empanadas.
I’ve had a chance to go out and clean up my e-mail In Box, and Sent Box. I know this sounds incredibly boring and yes, anal retentive, and no, I didn’t mention the word anal as reference to a sexual connotation, however…oh, never mind… I had something like 2K+ Sent e-mails, and clearly I don’t need those has-been sent messages anymore. As I poured through the pages, some dating back to early 2008, I went through a couple old boyfriend’s messages and thought of each of them…some more fondly than others, until I stumbled on an e-mail message that I saved from a good friend. I laughed out loud, quite literally as I re-visited the message, which I’ve shared with you below. I have somewhat of a history with engineer types. I’m not quite sure why, or what it is about me (non-linear, non-linear, non-linear) and the engineer-types (analytical, analytical, analytical) that we keep finding one another, but I probably hold some world record for attracting engineers without really trying.
I hope you had a great weekend and if you found yourself also playing catch up, like me this weekend, it included things like anal, trimming, digging, and do’in it in the great outdoors.
Have a great week -
Neve Black

Catching up is indeed what I’m working on right now (and later I look forward to catching up on sleep)! Glad you’re virtually joining me.
Thank you for the birthday wishes, dear Neve, and I’m so glad we’re virtual (by which I mean online of course) friends.
Xoxoxo,
Em
Em, you have a wickedly busy schedule. I bet when you finally do get bed…ahem, I mean sleep of course, the catch up is devine. And, hey, baby you and I are most definately virtual friends.
I love being busy. 4 hours of sleep-packed day. Nothing better.
Hi Madison,
Long time no hear. And if appears for good reason. You’re busy too. Hmmm….I like being busy, but lazy days are also nice.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I hope all is well.
Neve,
I may be a runner up on that contest. When you wrote analytical, analytical, analytical I never even saw the “ytical”. heh.
Hey D,
That made me laugh.
Yup, the truth is in the word itself! =)
