Yo Deseo Una Copa de Vino

naughtynevenightcap

It’s quite possible that I’ve become a vino-tinto-holic. Yeah, I know, something new for a change.  I’ll admit it, I do like a fine glass of vino from time to time - okay, okay, so most of the time, unless of course tequila beats vino to the punch. I think my escalated tinto-holic behavior must have something to do with the month of February. February is Cleveland’s coldest month. And I think I’m frozen. Maybe this month is everyone’s coldest month, unless of course you live on other side of the equator, like South America, for example.

Tonight *hiccup* I’m drinking an Argentinian Malbec, Colores del Sol, and might I add, the colors of the sun are warming me up quite nicely.

Thawing out,
Neve Black

  • Hope you enjoyed you vino. While you’re thawing out, I’m digging out. We got another two feet yesterday, and right now it looks like a Cleveland winter outside my window!

  • Hiya, oh tiddly Neve!

I finally got to see Up in the Air last night, on the strength of your recommendation, and I really enjoyed it. Thanks! But I’m also glad Mr Ashbless wasn’t watching the film with us … I think the redundancy theme would have been a bit too raw for him.
[SPOILER] I did have a horrid premonition at one point that it was all going to turn into a schmaltzy rom-com for the middle-aged, where he falls in love and lives happily ever after … And then it didn’t. YES!! Excellent!!!

And George Clooney can pay a flying visit to my hotel room any time he likes.

  • Ahh…it does seem to inspire imbibing, this cold weather does. I’m indulging in vino..or I was, until I ran dry ;) I will be picking up more tonight!

Of course, I’m all for cheap wines, cheap good wines, that is, and generally fill my glass from the tap on the side of the box ;) Better that way, since Mr.G. doesn’t drink wine, and stale wine is…well…yucky.

Stay warm, Neve! We’ve been thinking of you!

  • Oh Craig,
I’m sorry. I know you guys really got dumped over the last couple of days. I just let it pile up until I know it’s all done before I pull that shovel out. It’s just unbearably too cold for this girl right now. It’s as white as hell (if there is such a thing), bitter cold and dreary here this morning. God, this sucks. I say we plan an erotic adventure for the erotic group in Brazil for a week next February. Are you in?

  • Janine,
I swear you make me spit my coffee with laughter! You’re so funny to me. What in the world is a tiddly, again? I’ll have to consult my UK dictionary for that one. :-)
I’m so glad you enjoyed Up in the Air…I thought the direction and acting was devine even though the subject matter was boring and rather depressing…you know? Yeah, I liked the ending too. Sometimes a leopard really does change the color of its spots, but the universe doesn’t make it happen over night…in other words, I knew our beloved George wouldn’t end up with the girl. That’s what made the movie work for me too. It was more realistic.

I saw Hurt Locker too…loved the direction in that film. That film gets my Oscar vote!

Thanks for stopping and making me chuckle, Janine.

  • Oh, Scarlett,
I’ve been thinking about you two also. I’m sure you’re staying warm and snuggly through the crazies of winter. Ugh.

Hey, there’s nothing wrong with wine in a box either. I think I’ve tasted a few that were actually not bad at all. Hey, let’s be honest, it does the trick now, doesn’t?

    Big hugs

  • “Tiddly” is a very silly upper-class slang word that means that stage of having had a few drinks where you just start to feel giddy. It comes before “squiffy” and well before “blotto”.

  • Janine,
Well, I’m feeling a bit “tiddly” after sipping on a couple of Calfifornia-Sonoma’s buttery Chardonnnay’s tonight. I might actually be a bit squiffy, but rest assured I’m not blotto’d. :-)
Love your language over there. It’s quite perfect.

  • Count me in for Brazil! After this winter, I’m ready for sure…

  • Yes, the erotic writer’s conference south of the equator list is growing!
