The Real Thing, Baby

litreading

Note: Last night’s erotic reading was not videotaped, but the picture above, which was taken by Mr. Greyson is me while reading fellow Scorpio, erotic writer, BAK’s provocative work. And our Scarlett took the plunge and read her own penned pron.

“Hey, we’re on the corner of _______ and _______” she spoke to me from her cellular phone.

“Really!? I’ll go out the front door and direct you in.” I returned; my cellular phone was still attached to my ear. I was sitting at the kitchen table; typing away on my laptop’s keys. I was in mid-blog-sentence at Donna George Storey’s, and I knew I’d have to return to those thoughts at a later time.

Scarlett Greyson was here.

Both Scarlett and her husband were everything I expected and more. First of all, she’s gorgeous. She possesses a great sense of self-awareness, and she’s strong, but not over-bearing. And like most writers I’ve met, she’s intelligent, very well read and articulate. As the saying goes, “I liked her from hello.”

For those of us that have had the pleasure to physically meet another writer, or other writers, in this delightful, small erotic pool, you can identify with my thoughts. There’s a deep connection that you feel within your gut, and you just know that you’re with your people. It feels a little like butterflies that have been recently hatched from their cocoons, and they’re fluttering like crazy inside your belly. No, wait, butterflies isn’t quite the right. It feels more like fireflies, yes, fireflies lighting up and dancing around as they move and groove into your head and your heart, until they finally make their way into your blood stream of life. It’s sublime really.

Both she and her husband are great conversationalists and we touched upon a few fascinating topics during their short visit, and I’m hoping we’ll be able to circle back and discuss in more detail at a later date. We did speak of a return visit. Hmmm…or maybe I should write some of those topics down, so we can discuss as a group at one of our *Erotic Summit Meetings*. Scarlett and her husband traveled three hours so we could meet and also participate in the erotic reading held The Literary Café last night. I had a wonderful time and I hope they did as well.

I’ve grown quite fond of my blog-land friends, but as some of you already know, there’s nothing better than the real thing, baby.

*Erotic Summit Meeting is a non-fictitious dream that many fictitious writers want to make into a reality. The ESM is a undetermined place where writers can all meet, talk, and talk, drink, eat and talk for no less than three consecutive days. Hell, I’m willing to make Cleveland the destination spot. And somehow I will find room for everyone and their families.
